No Holds Barred: How Much Boxing Can You Still Enjoy?
On this edition of No Holds Barred, host Eddie Goldman discusses the Fernando Montiel-Nonito Donaire bantamweight title fight coming up Saturday, February 19, as well as the March 5 Saul Alvarez-Matthew Hatton and May 7 Manny Pacquiao-Shane Mosley fights.
While a fight like Montiel-Donaire will likely provide excitement in the ring, the stench of the self-destructive politics of boxing is so pervasive that it is hard to enjoy much of anything these days in this declining business. We discuss the collapse of the boxing reform movement, and how the clock of doom is ticking for what is left of boxing.
